Go on, tell me more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sure thing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you link your \u201cown\u201d blogs and pages from your \u201cown\u201d blogs and pages, that\u2019s internal link building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you chase others and beg-slash-get them to link from \u201ctheir\u201d blogs and pages to \u201cyour\u201d blogs and pages, that\u2019s external link building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both are VITAL to get your content up in Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let me explain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe you are familiar with how democratic system works, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYes, I am.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How a leader is selected in that system?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You vote, your fellow citizens vote, and the candidate who gets most votes wins the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now think like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 Google Search Page is a big \u201celection\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 Content of yours and content of all other people competing for the same topic are \u201ccandidates\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 Each backlink is a \u201cvote\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that\u2019s simple to you, I hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More backlinks means more votes to your content. But how exactly does backlinks get me more leads?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sure, I will let you know that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But before I come to that point, I wanna let you know one more thing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And it\u2019s important for you to know.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You see, backlinks are like 33% of total SEO efforts, as far as my 8+ years of SEO experience tells me! You might have the best website and best content on the internet, but if it doesn\u2019t have backlinks, it will hardly make the cut to the top on Google, especially for competitive keywords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And building backlinks is damn hard work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Out of every 100 sites I audit, 95 of them suck at building links. No wonder their SEO doesn\u2019t work despite loaded with 100s or 1000s of \u201chigh-quality\u201d blogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your website also doesn\u2019t have a great link building strategy at play, you better get on to it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh, and to ensure that link building works for you, do ensure to take care of following factors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cAnchor text\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cContext\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cDuplicate links\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cSEO priority pages\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cnofollow attribute\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And some more factors in case of external link building:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cDR\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cSpam score\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cPBNs\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cEditorial quality\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 \u201cAnd some more factors\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you miss to check above factors, Google can flag your website and take your rankings down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In short, if link building done bad, it can put your website in Google\u2019s bad books instead of good ones! Yes, Google punishes websites with spam links and explicitly prohibits the practice of \u201cbuying links\u201d for SEO.
