I hate 404!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yup!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Google doesn\u2019t like it either.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And these, BTW, you can call \u201cbroken links&#8221; &#8211; when you click on a link and instead of taking you to a working page, it takes you to a broken page or error page, that means the link is broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You see, when you create content, you add a LOT of links in your content like<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 You quote data and add the source link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 You add stats and add the source link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 You quote a book and add a link to the author\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And of course, you add internal links too, linking to your own pages and blogs. Like here I am linking the \u2018<a id=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/zeroado.stagex.dev\/sg-en\/\">best SEO agency<\/a>\u2019 text to the ZeroAdo page!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, all of these links are working because they are fresh.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over time, some of the pages that you have linked to will no longer exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut how?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, consider these scenarios that happen on the internet everyday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 the site you linked to for data deleted the old report link and published a new report on a new link; then the old link will no longer work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2192 the author whose book you quoted, that guy shut down the website because the book didn\u2019t sell well just like 99% of all books don\u2019t sell well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The point is, the day you publish your blog, all links in it do work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But over time, many links stop working and become broken links.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You, me, Google, and your customers &#8211; none of us like broken links.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And yes, it negatively impacts SEO. Remember, you gave 1-star to Amazon when you received those damaged packs of Tropicana!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s why you must fix all broken links on site as and when those become, well, broken!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGot it, Vishnu. But, how can I find broken links on my site? I have a huge website and if you are expecting me to go through each page, I can&#8217;t do that. Tell me a quick way to fix \u2018em.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes yes, I understand you\u2019re busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will be dumb if I dumbly ask you to \u2018manually\u2019 check broken links!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t need to.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use a tool.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCan you recommend one?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sure, I use Ahrefs. And I love it. Any way to automate this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, I can&#8217;t make it simpler than this!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And you\u2019re right, building new backlinks as well as fixing broken links needs a LOT of work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s also the reason why most websites suck at link building and are full of broken links B.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maintaining links is too important to ignore in SEO.
